Stoke Golding to Alvecote Marina

Middle Northwich motor Sickle & Small Northwich butty Cedar
Date: 24th & 25th April 2010
Crew: Matt, Sarah & Karen Parrott and Tom Stewart

SATURDAY 24TH: We set off from Alvecote Marina at 6:15am on Saturday morning and turned onto the Birmingham and Fazeley canal at approx 7:30am. Quiet run up Curdworth Locks with Alfred Matty's tug Governor in front. We towed Cedar up the majority of the flight to save on bow-hauling. Reached Aston Bottom Lock for 2:45pm and arrived at the top of the flight 4:45pm. Quick ride across to Farmers Bridge and got up the flight in about 1hr 30mins with the pair. Moored in Sherbourne Wharf for the night.

SUNDAY 25TH: Set off this morning at around 10am, left Cedar on about an 80ft line for heading across the mainline to have a bit more fun. Slow run up Factory 3 due to other boats. Arrived at the museum for around 2:30pm, where we raised the lift bridge and reversed the pair into the arm at the Black Country Museum.
