FITTING THE GUARDS

We purchased some 2" feather edge guard for the hull of Sickle from both Ian Kemp at Dadfords Shed and British Waterways.

 

FITTING THE CANTS

Once the front and back decks were fitted we made the cants. It was decided to make these out of steel so they would be easier to maintain.

WORK TO THE CABIN

Once the riveting was complete on the cabin we added the handrails, original Yarwoods pigeon box (courtesy of Rex Wain) as well as the brassware from Boatmans Cabin.

FITTING THE TOP GUARD

Next it was time to add the 1 1/2 inch feather edge guard along the gunwhales and counter. These were drilled and tapped in place as they would have been done originally.
