Middle Northwich Boats...
Tycho & Thoth...
Tycho is one of the five icebreakers. Tycho worked around Rugby in 1958, then
she went to Alfred Matty's. She was seen in 1972 at Farmers Bridge Locks in
Birmingham towing 4 joeys on a dredging contract with either Governor or Oxford
. In the early eighties she was owned by Simon Wain then by Dave Parrott and
based at Sawley on the River Trent where she was powered by a Petter PD3 which
was fitted by BW, she is now owned by D. Reynolds and is based at Cassiobury
Basin on the Grand Union near Watford . Tycho has had a new counter fitted and
sections of the swim replaced recently.
Thoth was sold to a scrap dealer at Iver in 1963/4 where she was scrapped.
